I was looking up pattern to make some baby headbands for a baby shower gift and came across some tutorial videos for chainless foundations. It was perfect for the headbands because it made them a little stretchier than if it would have started with chains. The videos are on crochet-mania.blogspot.com. For my headbands I used the chainless single crochet. Make enough stitches for the length you need. Then, reverse single crochet along the top edge, joined the two ends with a couple of slip stitches and reverse single crocheted along the bottom edge. Fasten off and weace in your ends.
